And of course the most anticiapted dance the ho down throw down, check out the video below! The Stake leaders also put together a skit which was funny and was enjoyed by all!

For the Strength of Youth

Go forward with Faith
The standards presented in this pamphlet will help you make correct choices. Review them often and ask yourself, “Am I living the way the Lord wants me to live?”
To help you become all that the Lord wants you to become, get on your knees each day and express to Him the desires of your heart. He is the source of all wisdom, and you need His help. He will hear and answer you.
Read the scriptures daily. They are a powerful source of personal revelation and a constant strength to your testimony.
Remember and keep the covenants you made when you were baptized and that you renew each week when you partake of the sacrament. You young men should keep the covenants you made when you received the priesthood. Keeping these covenants now will help you prepare for the temple covenants you will make in the future.
Be true to the Lord and to His Church in all circumstances. The authorities of the Church will lead you in paths of happiness. Be grateful for your membership in God’s great kingdom.
Be humble and willing to listen to the whisperings of the Spirit. Place the wisdom of the Lord above your own wisdom.
When you do these things, the Lord will make much more out of your life than you can by yourself. He will increase your opportunities, expand your vision, and strengthen you. He will give you the help you need to meet your trials and challenges. You will find true joy as you come to know your Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, and feel their love for you with Faith.

(Alma32:21)

I am a daughter of Heavenly Father, who loves me. I have faith in His eternal plan, which centers on Jesus Christ, my Savior.

Gingerbread houses and some other antics!

Last night the young women from East and West combined and had Annette teach us how to make Nice biscuit gingerbread houses. The girls brought a stach of lollies to decorate and we all went to work on assembling our houses. The girsl had a great time and seemed to enjoy being able to have a chat to each other as they worked. Below are some of our creations, sorry you will have to guess which one is yours and I was unable to put all of them up as the site has been playing silly billies!!!!!!!

This is how we packaged them up at the end of the night, very pretty!

When everyone left last night Sam, Lizzie and Phebe were left behind waiting for Stake President (Sam and Lizzies Dad) So what better to do than let off some of the sugar rush that you are on, after eating a ton of lollies!!!!! We were shown the throw down hoe down in many ways including as Sam being a puppet for Lizzie as was Phebe! Sometimes the best fun comes after everyone has left!

videoSorry about the quality I was using the trusty old mobile phone and I now realise that evrything is on it's side. But you get the idea of what happens when Sam and Lizzie are on a sugar rush!!!!!!

BOOT CAMP 09

Well yesterday we had the Stake Young Women boot camp and it was a great day! All the girls that attended enjoyed their day and it was a well planned day by our Stake Young Women's Presidency that includes Sarah, Lisa, Toni and Sascha. The day started with everyone arriving around 9.30 and getting some black war pain and a tough camo headband to wear. We then listened to Sarah give us a rund down of how we were going to wish we were sorry for coming as it was not goung to be an easy day. She then introduced Lisa as a once being in the army and Lisa got the whistle going and the girls lined up and made them do some high knees, pushups etc! She then picked on poor Zoe from Devenport by making her do 20 pushups for not having high enough knees. Zoe was a sport and did aout 10 on her toes which I reckon is pretty impressive as pushups on toes is rather hard. After the PAIN! We then had Toni talk about what was on the cards for the day. Each girl was given a lanyard to wear that had the levels for their camp carfter on it as well as were in colours so that the girls could easily be put into groups for the days activities. Each girl was then given a calico bag with their name on it as well as the Young Women torch logo that had a bottle of water and a trail mix for them to nibble on. We then had Bonnie teach the girls some CPR. After Bonnie everyone had a break for some morning tea.
After the morning tea the girls were split into their groups and sent to different stations where they learnt some first aid basics. Including a chance to practice their CPR, Frostbite, hypothermia, bites, wounds, and fractures ( think this is the main things!). After spening time at each station the girls then met back together and had Toni teach them how to make damper and then they cooked it for their lunch aong with some BBQ Sausages. They also had some biscuits in foil with marshmallows and choc chips in the middle that the girls seemed to like cooking in the fire.
After we had some lunch we then met back as a group and Had Simon teach the girls how to do rope knots and how to use the compass. Simon is a policman and also works with the search and rescue so he was very experienced in teaching us all. After learning the girls were split into ther groups to use their compass' so that they could find letter on trees to spell out a word, which turned out to be Nephi. Most of the groups worked well and found all the letters, one group wasn't sure what the letters spelt and thought it was HELPN! Not sure if they worked it out in the end or not. After this the girls were then given information in their groups and were sent out to look for people that had had some accidents and needed to be saved using the first aid and the knots they had learnt. Over all I think most of the accident people may have survivied although it was touch and go for some!!!!!!
After finishing the scenarios we then had Toni teach about fires and fire safety which was good and the girls were later able to put in practise some of the things they learnt including starting a fire with a magnifying glass, some people it worked for and others not as the cloud came over so their was no sun. The girls then had a chance to light a teepee fire and participated in a survivor challenge where they had to light their fire and which would burn a bit of string that would fly their flag. All teams managed to do this and some were quick and some it took a little longer to do. After they all lit their fires they then practised how to safely put them out.
The girls then had a chnace to write in their camp manuals on how they felt from their day and then they had Sarah chat to them about how impressed she was ithe the work they had into the day and how much they had learnt. The girls then sang the song 'Virtue' that they are learning and we closed our day. No sooner had we closed when some of the Deloraine girls got some buckets of water and started a water fight!!!!! I hear it was very planned although after reading Lisa's post I am thinking that maybe the leaders were expecting NOT to get drowned. Sorry to say that Lisa, Sarah and Toni got drowned as did Jayne who had come to pick up Taylor.
All in all it was a great day and all the girls worked hard, thanks to the Stake Young Women Leaders for making it a great day. I know that the talk in teh car on the way home was about how much fun we all had and that we are all looking forward to camp in January! I know from reading some blogs and facebook comments that their may be full on pay back going on in January so girls beware and make sure that when you come to camp in January that you are well prepared to have some water fun!
For more photos from the day check out Lisa's blog as I forgot my camera!
